Wow. Absolutely, 100% #NOTokay | Offensive Morning Segment of CKNW-CFOX's Simulcast http://t.co/kSTtw6zQv1 #Vancouver #wearebetterthanthis
"@CFOXvan: @jeffoneilshow @CFOXVan @CKNW http://t.co/1YWsXu7HWr" not 'just to listeners who were offended'. It was offensive.
Totally mysoginistic and inappropriate. Radio Host Poses 'Eff, Kill, Or Marry' Question For Justin Trudeau http://t.co/mt4cPEv5OE #cdnpoli
The comments resulted in an online dispute amongst CKNW staff, including the station's evening show host.
Just because you don't find something funny or appropriate that a comedian said, it doesn't mean you get to demand an apology #CFOX @CKNW
The assistant news director at CKNW disagreed.
.@drex Disagree. This isn't about hurt feelings. Killing women is never funny, esp in the worst year for domestic violence in #BC.
The idea of a debate provoked even more outrage online.
Looking fwd 2 hearing @char_des & @drex @ 6:30 on @CKNW but 'debate' implies there are 2 sides. Not so. O'Neill was out of line. Period.
Then the on air debate was cancelled
The f***, kill or marry "joke" is a debate? MT @drex: Tonight on @CKNW @char_des joins Drex to debate the line btwn comedy & appropriateness
Eventually apologies were issued online from all the broadcasters and two of the hosts involved.
The @jeffoneilshow & @CFOXvan have issued an apology. @CKNW apology issued earlier today. http://t.co/Eh68tzJwOM
I was caught completely off guard by an offensive and disrespectful segment on morning radio today. It was not funny and it was #NOTokay.
@chrisgailus and I were part of radio segment today that included questions & comments we didn't expect and ABSOLUTELY don't agree with
