A 64-year-old man, accompanied by two plainclothed officers with a duffle bag, walks into courtroom no. 4.
Potter, wearing reading glasses, holds a pen in his mouth as he arranges papers in the prisoner box. #PotterTrialby Ariana.Kelland via twitter 2/14/2019 1:44:30 PM -
This man has known Vincent Leonard Sr. for about 30 years, he says. He became a police agent in December 2015.
Potter isn’t looking over at the agent a lot, he’s busy shuffling his documents and notes around in the prisoners box. #PotterTrialby Ariana.Kelland via twitter 2/14/2019 1:51:27 PM -
Looking through a couple black, binded notebooks the agent says he actually became an RCMP agent in December 2014.
And that came at a hefty cost. #PotterTrial https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DzXvH5cV4AAwGJe.jpgby Ariana.Kelland via twitter 2/14/2019 1:54:39 PM -
He was paid $250 ,000 for his services. Plus “maintaince payments” per month. Started $500 a week and upped to $800 a week.
In Feb., payment increased to $300 ,000 after RCMP wanted info on “basically the Vikings club and the Leonard family.” #PotterTrialby Ariana.Kelland via twitter 2/14/2019 1:58:36 PM -
How does one get into the Vikings MC, you ask?
Agent says he was speaking to Vincent Leonard Sr. and said, “I should get in.”
To which Leonard Sr. “yes, we’d be glad to have you.” #PotterTrialby Ariana.Kelland via twitter 2/14/2019 2:01:53 PM -
He explains the members who wore green and white didn’t drive motorcycles. People who wore red and white colours, did.
“Did you have a bike licence?”
“No sir”
“Why not?”
“I didn’t need it. I didn’t want to get the licence because of the arthritis.” #PotterTrialby Ariana.Kelland via twitter 2/14/2019 2:05:57 PM -
“The bike was bought and paid for by the RCMP.” Cost $6 ,500, second hand Harley.
The colours were paid for by the RCMP, $250 . Dues were $30 per month, also paid for by the RCMP.#PotterTrialby Ariana.Kelland via twitter 2/14/2019 2:07:37 PM -
Two members of the Leonards have just walked into the courtroom. #PotterTrialby Ariana.Kelland via twitter 2/14/2019 2:13:21 PM

The jury is now listening to transcripts of the wire that the police agent wore.
They originally were only giving them to the jury, lawyers and accused.
After raising the issue, the media now has two headsets to share among us. #PotterTrialby Ariana.Kelland via twitter 2/14/2019 2:19:14 PM -
Wire tap picks up conversation between Potter and agent.
He says he never told anyone he was Hells Angels — it was the “f—king media printing whatever they want.”
“Even Danny Williams premier of the province is suing the f—king media for lies!” #PotterTrialby Ariana.Kelland via twitter 2/14/2019 2:36:13 PM -
The agent brings up the North River homicide — “I’m guilty of f—k all when it comes to that.” #PotterTrialby Ariana.Kelland via twitter 2/14/2019 2:38:03 PM
-
Al Potter says the “f—king ——sucking media got me in trouble.”
Makes reference to cutting “their f—king heads off.” #PotterTrialby Ariana.Kelland via twitter 2/14/2019 2:40:53 PM -
I can’t make out everything because I’m sharing a headset so I’ll have updates when I have them, folks. #PotterTrialby Ariana.Kelland via twitter 2/14/2019 2:57:02 PM
-
Al Potter wrote letters back and forth to the agent while he was in jail, and in one, expressed interest in the job opportunity and said he’d be in good shape to go “to work.” #PotterTrialby Ariana.Kelland via twitter 2/14/2019 5:57:55 PM
-
The police agent tells of one time when two undercover RCMP officers came to the Vikings bar on Boncloddy Street with him, pretending to be friends of the agent from Ontario. #PotterTrialby Ariana.Kelland via twitter 2/14/2019 5:58:52 PM

Listening to an intercepted phone call between the agent and Potter, with the agent saying George Street fest is starting tonight.
“April Wine is back again, JESUS.” Police agent and some jurors chuckle. #PotterTrialby Ariana.Kelland via twitter 2/14/2019 6:58:21 PM -
Listening to the conversation, there is a lot of laugher between friends. Little did Potter knew, the agent was in with the RCMP and the call was intercepted.
The agent says the debt collectors say “they need the man power.”
“I’m there. I’m there,” AP says #PotterTrialby Ariana.Kelland via twitter 2/14/2019 7:07:58 PM -
Day 10 of the #PotterTrial begins with continued testimony from the Viking-turned-police agent. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Dzc1raRUUAEZgur.jpg

The police agent will sit at this table, to the front left of Justice Garrett Handrigan.
“This has been on my mind since the trial started and I think it’s on your mind too,” judge says. He’s explaining that there are 14 jurors now. #PotterTrial https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Dzc2ZKyV4AArL3s.jpgby Ariana.Kelland via twitter 2/15/2019 1:44:30 PM -
He explains if the number of jurors dips below ten, a mistrial will be called. “Out of an abundance of caution, we are allowed to selection more than 12 to do the trial,” he says. #PotterTrialby Ariana.Kelland via twitter 2/15/2019 1:45:21 PM
-
“It’s difficult bringing you all the way through this, command your attention ... and then not have the option to be involved in the jury deliberations.” #PotterTrialby Ariana.Kelland via twitter 2/15/2019 1:47:41 PM

Wearing a long-sleeved blue shirt with a collared shirt underneath, the police agent listens to another intercepted phone call.
“You have a collect call from ... Al.”
The two men are talking about the drowning in Shea Heights. #PotterTrialby Ariana.Kelland via twitter 2/15/2019 1:52:19 PM -
A daughter of one of the members owed $1 ,905 for shirts in Ontario, the agent said.
“That’s not fit, right?” Potter said, adding he would pay it to help her out. #PotterTrialby Ariana.Kelland via twitter 2/15/2019 2:04:45 PM -
In comparing the Vikings to more organized biker clubs, the agent says, “Oh goes to a meeting and they say $30 ? I’ll pay next week. I said, ‘f—k, the welfare cheques are out! You can have a case of beer but you can’t pay your dues?” #PotterTrialby Ariana.Kelland via twitter 2/15/2019 2:09:28 PM
-
Asked by Crown attorney Sheldon Steeves if the call indicated the Vikings were planning to go up to have a meeting with the Hells Angels, the police agent says yes.
That call was in 2016, before Potter’s arrest in September. #PotterTrialby Ariana.Kelland via twitter 2/15/2019 2:11:29 PM -
There’s no indication on these calls that anything fishy was happening. Sounds like two good friends laughing and having a chat.
“Happy birthday buddy!” Potter said. “We’re gonna celebrate that now when I’m out. I owe you a steak dinner!” #PotterTrialby Ariana.Kelland via twitter 2/15/2019 2:18:31 PM -
The police agent is INCREDIBLY convincing.
After the “boss” aka RCMP undercover officer met Potter in jail, he called the agent to tell him the good news that he was hired for a small job. #PotterTrialby Ariana.Kelland via twitter 2/15/2019 2:38:45 PM -
“I’m gonna tell you something right now, sir, I’m gonna do a good f—king job now too. So imagine how that’s good make you look? When I shines like a f—king shining star and you’re the one who got him to hire me.” #PotterTrialby Ariana.Kelland via twitter 2/15/2019 2:39:32 PM
-
While raking in police agent money, he was on social assistance the whole time.
“So they take income tax out of that?” Piercey asks.
“Nudding. You don’t pay no tax, nothing gets taken out.”
“Nobody told me to stop taking government cheques.” #PotterTrialby Ariana.Kelland via twitter 2/15/2019 3:19:34 PM -
The RCMP, at one point, gave him $100 ,000 cash ... in $100 bills.
Police also gave him cash for other things. #PotterTrialby Ariana.Kelland via twitter 2/15/2019 3:21:50 PM -
The police agent is a bit of a character.
Piercey: “I can’t ask you where you are now.”
“I won’t tell ya anyway,” he says. Judge and jury chuckle. #PotterTrialby Ariana.Kelland via twitter 2/15/2019 3:24:35 PM -
Piercey points out there were far more than the 6 phone calls in total between Potter and the agent.
“And not once is there a discussion of the murder of Mr. Potter,” defence says. Crown objects. Jury asked to leave the room. #PotterTrialby Ariana.Kelland via twitter 2/15/2019 3:35:29 PM -
During a previous hearing, the police agent told the court the Vikings Motorcycle Club were a “Mickey Mouse Club” and did not operate like a business.
If someone missed a meeting, meeting cancelled. If someone showed up drunk, meeting cancelled. #PotterTrialby Ariana.Kelland via twitter 2/15/2019 3:38:39 PM -
