Associated Press: The Belgian federal prosecutor's office has made a new plea to the media not to spread any information about the investigation in the wake of the bombing attacks early Tuesday.
Belgian authorities had already made a similar plea during the days following the Nov. 13 Paris attacks when they were certain an attack in Brussels was imminent. It was largely followed by the media.
On Tuesday, the office again asked the media to immediately desist from spreading information from the ongoing investigation. - Associated Press

Statement from the president of the United Nations General Assembly, H.E. Mogens Lykketoft:
"The President of the United Nations General Assembly Mr. Mogens Lykketoft is horrified with the terror attack in Brussels today. We have in the last week seen atrocities in Turkey, Ivory Coast and now in Belgium. It must be condemned in the strongest terms.
His thoughts are with the victims of the attack and their families and all those dealing with the aftermath of these atrocities and the President of the UN General Assembly expressed sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims and to the Governments whose citizens were caught up in these attacks.
Acts of terrorism are unjustifiable regardless of their motivation and terrorism in all its forms and manifestations constitutes on of the most serious threats to international peace and security. Acts of terrorism have no place in the modern world and only serve to strengthen the resolve of governments the world over to find and prosecute the individuals responsible.
The President of the UN General Assembly reaffirmed the need for all States to combat by all means, in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations and other obligations under international law, including international human rights law, international refugee law and international humanitarian law, threats to international peace and security caused by terrorist acts." -
