  • In my opinion, online dating provides the opportunity to meet a partner. You still need to meet in person to see if you're compatible or not. It's technology as ice breaker.

    For me and my husband, online dating made it easier to find a partner. At the time, I worked mainly with other women and my husband worked mainly with other men. Also, our age (early 30s at the time), small social circles and personalities made it harder to meet people in a more traditional manner.

    It certainly worked for us. We've been together almost 9 years and married for over two years.

    As for online dating being a threat to monogomy, people found ways to cheat on their partners long before online dating began. Where there's a will, there's a way.
