Well if you like sunshine and warm temps in late July, have I got a forecast for you.

Wednesday will be mainly sunny, breezy and dry. High pressure will be right over southern Manitoba on Thursday so it’s pretty much the same forecast only without the breeze and warmer at 29 degrees.

Once that high pressure centre starts to move east on Friday, the return flow around the west side of the high brings in some stronger winds out of the south and temps closer to 30 or 31.
Saturday gets interesting. We are still warm at 29 in the afternoon but a bucket full of moisture will be streaming into the south. Prepare to sweat! Dewpoint temps will be close to 20 degrees. That’s sticky for sure.

A weak cold front may just be enough to trigger some showers or even thunderstorms in the afternoon. Right now, model guidance places the higher thunderstorm threat northeast of Winnipeg close to Lac du Bonnet.

I’ll watch that one carefully for you.
