UPDATE ON MID-WEEK SYSTEM: The latest GFS American & Canadian models are now looking pretty similar with the track & setup for Wednesday night/Thursday. Both have a Snow to Rain event for the Avalon, with some Snow for areas further West & into Central Newfoundland as well. However... the latest European is sticking to it's guns with the idea of a secondary Low developing into a Big Storm with Snow & Wind for many. We'll shall see. For More, check out my featured Blog: www.cbc.ca

Tuesday Noon Update: Unfortunately, we still have some disagreements this morning on the overall setup of this Wednesday/Thursday system. Those disagreements have big implications for what we'll see falling on the ground here in Eastern Newfoundland, especially for Thursday. The afternoon forecast model runs will hopefully tell us more. However, Wednesday is now looking a bit clearer. It's looking likely now that from Harbour Breton to Terra Nova and areas East (Burin, Clarenville, Bonavista & the Avalon) will be seeing Snow beginning in the afternoon and continuing for the drive home from work tomorrow (Wednesday) evening. It'll be a slippery and slow commute. Both the overnight Euro & GEM models are dropping a solid 3-6 cm across the Avalon by Supper time. Snow will likely begin to mix with Rain across the Avalon overnight... and into Thursday. The question is when & how much Snow falls before the change over. More on the blog later today & of course tonight on Here & Now.
