One week to the big day. Will it be a White Christmas? Here are the historical odds. #nlwx pbs.twimg.com/media/A-ZOkjPCEAElz_D.png
by Rodney Barney via twitter 12/18/2012 11:30:26 AM -
For this year, it appears a White Christmas is virtually guaranteed across Labrador, plus western and northern Newfoundland... but more questionable for eastern Newfoundland. Lower elevations already losing snow, and more mild weather coming this weekend. However long range models suggest somewhat colder air settling back in for Christmas Day, so can't write anything off yet. Stay Tuned.by Rodney Barney via twitter edited by Ryan Snoddon 12/18/2012 11:35:49 AM

Not looking great for Snow lovers or a White Christmas for parts of the Island. The latest GEM, GFS & European models all now have a similar looking setup for upcoming weekend system. A Rain event for Newfoundland & a Snow event for Labrador. As weekend system departs, cold air would then wrap back in around the system, cooling Newfoundland down for the 24th-25th-26th. It's still early. Stay tuned!by Ryan Snoddon via twitter edited by Ryan Snoddon 12/18/2012 10:39:40 PM

Another quiet one across NL for Thursday. A few more clouds in Labrador, but sun in the mix. Sunshine for the West Coast of Nfld too. Watching a weak 'finger of moisture' to work towards Central & East through the day on Thursday bringing more clouds & flurries. Flurries activity will increase Thursday afternoon & evening. GEM REG model shows a trace-2 cm is possible for the Northeast Coast by Friday Morning. twitpic.com/bngfjv
