The vice principal of Sahar #shafia 's school is now testifying about an incident when youth perfection was called
The vp was concerned after hearing things from one of the girl's teachers and wanted to get the story straight b4 calling youth protection
vp said Sahar indicated she may be suicidal. she told the vp her mother said she didn't care & "let her die" when she took some medication
vp says youth protection was called and parents came to the school. Sahar seemed to change once she saw parents and brother there #shafia
A worker with the English youth protection service in MTL is now testifying #shafia
She told the court she was called in to the school after a report was made on Sahar on May 7,2008 #shafia
Sahar was visibly upset and very concerned that the social worker had to contact her parents about the report. #shafia
The complaint included that her brother had thrown scissors at her, pressure to drop out of school, concern about her mental stability
Sahar denied all the allegations and said she wanted to go home #shafia
Youth protection worker said #shafia was very angry report had been made and denied all allegations
Social worker talked to manager, decided no imminent risk and let Sahar go home #shafia
One of the issues Sahar said was making her "sad" was mother's insistence she wear the hijab #shafia
Sahar didn't want to wear the hijab to school. #shafia
When the youth protection worker met with Sahar to follow up two days later, she had her head covered. #shafia
Worker said Sahar seemed happier. No risk identified. Investigation was closed #shafia
Another vp from the girls' school testified about a series of unexplained absences by 13 y.o. Geeti and Sahar #shafia
Geeti also had an incident where she was told to leave class b/c of something she said to a teacher #shafia
Vp met with teacher and Geeti and found the remarks were made because teacher was trying to dissuade the 13-year-old from fleeing the home..

Vp testified she met/talked to mother several times and Tooba said she didn't know what to do with Geeti and asked for help #shafia
Vp also testified she sent Geeti home on one occasion because her shirt was too low cut #shafia
The second vp has finished testifying. #shafia
She said school staff were concerned about Sahar because she had lost weigh and appeared ill #shafia
One time, she fainted at the school and had to be taken to hospital by ambulance #shafia
The vp said Geeti's demeanor started to change in Feb. 09 #shafia
She started dressing like her older sister, wearing make up #shafia
The girls would sometimes come to school in one outfit and then change into other clothes and put on make up, the vp testified #shafia
The defence questioned the VP about an incident she recalled when Sahar refused to go on a school trip #shafia
Crying, Sahar told her that her older sister Zainab had taken the keys, gotten into an accident and was in a coma #shafia
Geeti's story was different, she testified, so they weren't sure what was going on, but suspected something wasn't right at home #shafia
vp said the girls were afraid of their father and school staff were cautious to report things to parents ....

The detective is asking #shafia about damage to the Nissan where the bodies were found and the family's Lexus
#shafia said Zainab had backed the Nissan into the Lexus in the parking lot of their niagara falls hotel the day they drove to Kingston
#shafia tells the officer he saw the accident from the hotel window
#shafia "it was fine. I was upset and I just took the key away from her"
#shafia damage was minimal... Family left niagara falls for Montreal at 8 pm but stopped in Kingston because Tooba was tired
Hamed continued on to #Montreal in the Lexus because there was business to take care of there #shafia said
The officer tells #shafia the Lexus was in an accident the morning of June 30. #shafia says he didn't know about it
The officer said Hamed returned to kimgston with the minivan not Lexus after the accident, but didn't tell police there's been a crash
