Falconer is still giving an overview of these devices -- remember, there are dozens of them. I'll start going more in depth again when he starts talking about what exactly was found on them.
We're now taking lunch until 2:15 p.m.
Court is now resuming. Falconer is back in the witness box, talking about information pulled from Millard's electronic devices.
The first texts we're seeing are from 2010, from Millard to his friend and mechanic, Shane Schlatman. They're talking about vehicles -- the Crown is showing these to establish it is indeed Millard writing them.
Falconer is now showing a few more texts. In all of these, they're still establishing this is Millard responding to them.
In some of these texts we're seeing, Millard says his "other" number is "malfunctioning." The Crown is showing these to illustrate Millard used more than one phone.
Crown Ken Lockhart now asking if software can detect everything that had been deleted from a phone. Falconer says no, it won't. But sometimes, it does -- if the space it was in hasn't been overwritten.
Also on the contact lists we're seeing numbers associated with Mark Smich, Andrew Michalski, and Christina Noudga, Millard's then girlfriend. Millard's Uncle, Robert Burns, is in there too.
We're now seeing a photo of Mark Smich, shirtless and flashing a thumbs up in front of a TV. The Crown is showing this to establish Smich as the person associated to a specific phone number.
We're now seeing a very young photo of Mark Smich sent from the same number. It says "My old passport picture Lmfao." Smich can't be older than 10 in this photo.
Now, we're seeing rap lyrics Smich texted Millard: "Whos this foolish tattoo you with bruises. Dace on the news cuz i left no clues bitch.. They clueless must of confused it. A missing person like they got to choose." Millard responds: "Cool flow."
We're now seeing texts between Smich's girlfriend Marlena Meneses and Millard from Sept. of 2012. They are discussing an arrest of Smich. Smich later says he's facing a mischief under $5,000 charge.
We're also seeing more rap lyrics from Smich where he's talking about "extra space in the trunk" for a woman.
A lot of the text messages we're seeing here aren't super consequential for this trial's evidence -- but they establish who is who on what numbers.
Now seeing a text from Smich to Millard, in which he says, "Jusgt so you know. I love u bro." Also another from Millard where he says "Much love cracker" to Smich. The Crown is showing these to establish the relationship between the two.
Another text from Smich to Millard: "I love you a whole lot like large, big huge, monstrously massive maing, you're really the brother I never had."
More texts from Smich to Millard from 2012: "You are my manager! So your opinion counts most. I'm not finished yet it all I'm saying. And if u don't want to me my best friend and my manager. We can still be best friend and cold lamp in the shade when I'm rich."
Now texts from Millard to Smich in March of 2012: "How ruthless are you willing to be to make $$? I have some ideas, but it's next level stuff. we'll talk about this weekend. I know you need income."
In a response, Smich is saying he needs a "paycheque or a mission."
In some of these messages, Smich is asking Millard for money.
In one of his response texts, Millard is asking how much of the money he's sent went to "juice and smokes."
In another text, Millard suggests to Smich that he can "steal peoples recycling and bring it to the beer store" to make money. Millard also suggests a moonshine business "for underaged highschooolers." Millard refers to this plan as "genius."
Another message from Millard to Smich on April 15, 2012: "I'm down to 2,000 in my account with 7,500 in credit card debt. Spend wisely bro."
In another text, Smich is suggesting a nickname from Millard: "Dman. Kind of like Demon."
In another text in 2012, Millard talks to Smich about "pulling over a pharmaceutical truck." Millard also says Smich is risking things by getting hurt too much. "Good times aren't here yet, but we're going to bring them," Millard says.
Smich offers to steal a car, in another text. Millard shoots that idea down, saying if he gets caught, he'll have to pay for lawyers. "Don't do that to me. Be smart bro," Millard says.
We're now taking the afternoon break. Back in 15 mins.
We're now moving on to a section of the presentation called "Connecting with isho." He's the gun dealer who sold to Millard.
In January of 2012, Millard is asking Smich in texts to get in touch with Isho. "Pretty soon I'm gonna start thinking you're trying to hold it as some kinda power trip," Millard says to Smich, about Isho's contact.
Millard says to Smich in January 2012: "I'm under pressure nigga, shit's gotta start happening, wtf's up with Isho, tell that guy to text me already."
Now in early February of 2012, Millard is expressing his frustration for not being able to get in touch with Isho. "Tell him I want to talk about tools, I'm serious, but that he's got to text me # so I can set up a time," Millard says.
On Feb. 3, Smich says to Millard that isho will be at his place for a bit.
We're now seeing texts from July 1, 2012. Millard is getting text from Isho -- though these texts were all deleted, and then recovered by police. Isho texts "32 but its its a really nice nice compact piece I'm sure ud like it." He then later texts "They've been prohibited for 30yra here now. So u got a very rare thing lucky u."
More from Isho to Millard: "If all goes as planned, u will have domes tonight for the 500 we agreed." This text was also deleted.
Now we're seeing a text from Millard to a David Williams in May of 2012. Millard asks him if he knows anyone who would like to invest 2 million in an MRO. He says the business they have been building is on track, but they're out of cash.
Millard is referring to the new MillardAir hangar/business at the hangar in Waterloo. An MRO is basically like a garage for planes.
The Crown is also showing specific messages from around Nov. 29 to Nov. 30, 2012. They're showing these because these texts would have been happening around the time Wayne Millard was allegedly killed. That would also factor into location data for the phone Millard is using.
We're now hearing a couple of voicemails from Millard's phone around this time too. Their contents don't seem to be terribly important, but again, they likely relate to location data for his phone around this time.
That's it for us today -- Falconer's testimony continues tomorrow morning. I'll have a recap story up soon. Thanks for following along.
